Yes, that was a joke - I was going to propose a snark threshold around the level of discussions involving the COD but thought better of it.
Well, maybe I missed the point and fell victim to the Snark but I still found the link interesting - maybe I should duck back down behind the parapet and continue as only an observer!
Cheers,
Darren

Hmm. I can't even stop people posting attachments, and now you ask me to hunt the Snark*. There may be trouble deciding between necessary and unnecessary snarkiness... and then defining the threshold...How about that for a good example of a snarky comment :-) ...sorry...> Jon... nicely illustrated... by posting an interesting link...Actually I think Jon was being a little snarky himself. He thinks he already knows how to extract single crystal data from powder samples, using the SR methods to which he refers. And he's right in principle :-) If you have enough intensity you can collect single crystal data from individual powder grains, or even individual molecules with a FEL.The days of (x-ray) "powder diffraction" may indeed be numbered :-)Alan______________________________________________Dr Alan Hewat, NeutronOptics, Grenoble, FRANCE<[email protected]> +33.476.98.41.68
