Personally, I'm not comfortable ripping to a proprietary format. I rip to FLAC using EAC. And, I trust EAC to do the ripping more accurately than I'd trust iTunes or Win Media. Maybe not a huge deal for most of your collection, but if the on-disk archive will be your main music source for years to come, why not make sure to archive the best results possible?
Did I mention proprietary formats bug the crap out of me?
