Now I understand much better. I am relieved that I had C2 reporting
unchecked and the cache box checked, based on mindlessly following
advice given in a link on the WIKI. However, I dug deeper at
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=30959&st=0 and
found one suboptimal setting--I did not check another box concerning
offsets (Overread into lead-in and lead-out data), which caused
Accurate Rip not to work and has some other consequences I don't
understand but appear to be minor.
