I infer from other threads that it is possible to have slimserver list
compilation albums under the albumartist rather than various
artists. I am having trouble with this.
I have tagged my test flac album as a compilation ("compilation" tag =
1), have included multiple artists in the artist tag, and have defined
one albumartist. I also defined a tag album artist equal to
albumartist.
Under behavior in server settings (slimserver 6.5.0), I tried two
configurations for the compilation settings. The first is this:
Setting 1: Group Compilation Albums Together
Setting 2: List Albums by Band
In this case, the album showed up under various artists and not under
the album artist.
I also tried setting the first behavior setting equal to list
compilation albums under each artist while keeping the second setting
the same. In this case, the album showed up under the each of the
various artists, and the tracks under the album only those the
particular artist contributed to.
Is it possible to get the behavior I seek? If so, what am I doing
wrong? (Do I need Slimserver 6.5.1 --- hope not as it seems some are
having problems with that version.)
