Thanks so much for your responses. It appears I may not made my problem clear. So I will set it out more methodically.
1. My test album has two artistsArtist1 contributes to all 20 tracks, Artist2 contributes to 18 tracks. Tag Albumartist and Tag Album Artist are equal to Artist1 for all tracks. The Compilation tag is set to 1 for all tracks. 2. Under compilation settings in the behavior menu of slimserver, I have two choices for compilation albums. 1A Group compilation albums together, or 1B List compilation albums under each artist 2A List albums by the artists for that album, or 2B List albums by band (band tag also know as TPE2 or album artist in some software) The choice 1A or 1B is ambiguous, as neither one applies in my case. So Ive tried both. Only choice 2B makes any sense in my case. When I choose 1A and 2B, the album is listed under various artists. When I choose 1B and 2B, the album is listed under both artists as follows: Artist1 --Album ----All 20 tracks Artist 2 --Album ----18 Tracks My desired result is: Albumartist --Album ---All 20 tracks I also tried setting the compilation tag to 0 as JJzolx suggested. In this case, the compilation settings dont matter and I get the same result as I did above when choosing 1B and 2B. (I was not optimistic Id get my desired result in this case, as how could slimsever know to do anything special with abumartist if the compilation tag is not set to 1?) I would conclude that slimserver has a bug. But in another recent thread (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...ht=albumartist), the user was able to get the desired results by simply replacing album artist with albumartist. (Again, I have both tags.) But nothing was said about his compilation settings. I have sent him a private message but have not yet heard back. Any more suggestions?
