I wish to list albums under the albumartist for cases where there is a clear albumartist. In cases where there are many artists and no one is clearly the main artist (what I would call a true compilation album), I wish to list under "various artists." My test album is a case in point--only two artists, 18 tracks joint, and 2 tracks solo. For purposes of finding and playing music in this case, I want to list it under the major artist. That way, I can easily play the whole album. (In this particular example, the albumartist (artist1) is on all tracks, but that is not generally the case. If no one artist is on all tracks, playing the whole album requires finding the album via the artist list and then finding the album again through the album list. In general, I play whole albums.) When I am playing the album, I want to be able to look up who the artist is on a particular track. (For curiosity, or perhaps to check out more of their music.) Hence, I do not want to dispose of the multiple artist information.
