just wondering if anyone figured out an answer to the op's question. i think this is actually a bug. simply put, slimserver is not diplaying the band (tpe2) info in the artist list if set to "group compilation albums together".
settings are "group comps together" and "list albums by band". all three check boxes are ticked at the top of the behavior page. likely just a display bug because of the following: test library is one trojan box set and one chopin album. trojan box set has BAND (i.e. tpe2) set to "trojan" with ARTIST tags being unique. browsing by artist shows me "various artists" and "chopin". "trojan" is not shown. clicking on "various artists" shows me the trojan box set. slimserver reports two albums by one artist. searching for "trojan" gets me "artists matching 'trojan': 1". and then i can click on "trojan", taking me to the album. now the navigation bar shows "Home / Artists / trojan".
