Josh is *the* world expert on FLAC. I would not expect him to be an authoritative source on an Apple codec, Apple is the only real source there. Its closed. They don't share. If you really want to know, I'd suggest cruising the Apple forums and blogs. Free and open is why FLAC is a better choice.
