Tripwire is a good solution on linux but the problem is the checksum changes with tag modification (bad).
Personally, I do a weekly two step backup: - run flactest on the whole files (only checks for flac content integrity and works always even when tags have been modified)) - copy the whole disc in another backup disk => Max data loss: one week Furthermore, on my main server, I run daily "SMART quick check" and weekly "SMART full analysis". I would never use a system without SMART capability (that's why I don't rely on usb disks) It's possible to run mp3 tag checksum as it's done with flac, but I don't know it in details (remember some programs put checksums in mp3 comment tag) -- vrobin ------------------------------------------------------------------------ vrobin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11705 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39578 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
