Just discovered this thread in a search. I have had a few corrupted Flac files recently & at the moment am unsure what is causing it as I use a number of different tools to edit / encode audio files.
I have full backups of my entire 1TB+ flac library on seperate unplugged ext disks so I was able to recover the files from a backup. I have made my entire music library read-only in Vista, if I need to re-tag a file (example, to rate an album)I make a copy of the files, change those then test them before overwriting the original files, then make those read-only. Can anyone recommend any other steps I can take to prevent Flac data corruption? The apps I use are: MediaMonkey Foobar Mp3tag Easy CDDA Extractor/converter Traders little helper All are latest versions. I now use the free AudioTester from http://www.vuplayer.com/other.php which will check my entire Flac library for errors, just drag & drop your music dir(s) into it. I run it from a batch file scheduled in Task manager in Vista overnight once a week. Other than taking these precautions, can anyone think of anything else I can do? Now I have made the library read-only, I assume the only way I can get data corruption would be a disk error or malware, is this a safe assumption? Thanks for reading. -- Rockyjocky ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rockyjocky's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14676 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39578 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
