IMHO you should rip to FLAC. You can always change your mind later and transcode from any lossless format to any other.
WMA lossless needs to be transcoded on the server to play on the SB. Not a huge overhead but it seems like a waste, and it means you can't use FFWD/REW on the SB. If you want to burn CDs you can do that directly from FLAC, no need to convert back to WMA. Nero for example will do this, or if you don't want to spend any money you can download Burrrn. File sizes are much the same, however, not worth worrying about the difference. And there is plenty of other Windows software that will play with FLAC files - foobar2000 for playing, mp3tag for tagging, musicIP for playlisting etc etc etc. IMHO.
