If you are truly worried about space, then it is a question of lossy vs lossless.
If this discussion is about which lossless codec to use, then the most compelling argument I've read is the abiliy of SB to decode FLAC natively, but otherwise, lossless is lossless. Go with whichever you feel more comfortable.
