Sounds interesting with your own 5.1 surround projects - what kind of
software are you using for that purpose?

I've sent you a PM and would like you to test a couple of files. As far
as the receiver (Sony STR-DB940) goes I'm not sure of anything - when it
recognizes a surround stream it turns on a big blue light (rather
annoying actually) and I normally choose "AFD" (Auto Format Decode)
which gives the receiver right to choose as it sees best.

My DTS-files are playing as I'm expecting but the AC3-files only play
in stereo and there is no blue light! One strange thing (to me anyway)
is that if I change from "AFD" setting to "2-channel stereo" the music
still plays BUT the volume of the increases!?

I think I remember something about DTS-track being better when used
from my DVD-player (both AC3 and DTS work fine with my
surround-receiver when the DVD-player is the source!)?

from your reply it doesn't sound like there's a lot of difference
between the two formats when using the SqueezeBox?
