Sorry to hear you're having problems.  The code is having problems
because it only knows how to deal with AC3 frames marked with certain
codes.  The code uses tables taken from the AC3 reference documents,
which only go up to 0x25 -- I've not seen a table that goes as high as
0x39.  If anybody knows of one, please let me know (it's the
'bit_rate_code' table, referenced as A3.4 in the standard I've seen).

Does VLC report any messages that indicate it might be fixing the
stream somehow?  Perhaps fixing the endianness of something?
