Well, it looks like by checking the boxes I'll get more people listed in my Artists menu, and I want less. So I assume that leaving them unchecked is the way to leave them.
Similarly, I would expect that checking "list by all artists" would only add names to the list. I specifically don't want guest artists listed. I've changed to treating TPE2 by Band and rescanned the complete library. I have also taken the Compilation=0 from one mp3 album as a test. Results ------- Looks like it was the Compilation=0 tag (????) On the album with no compilation tag, the guests don't appear on the Browse -> Artist listing. They are also reported as "Track Artist" on the track. On the album with Compilation=0 tag, the guests appear on the Browse -> Artist listing. They are reported as "Artist" on the track. Quite why this should be the case I have no idea. I will now set a Compilation=1 on all my VA albums and remove the tag from other albums. A thousand thanks!
