Of course there's no difference in how it is heard, but there is a _convenience_ factor. If Chip wants to hear the whole concert he can either (a) do it his way by selecting one "album" that is the entire 5 CD set, or (b) do it your way and individually select each of the 5 different "albums" that make up the concert. And if he just wanted to hear what was on disc 4, then your way would be more convenient. No right or wrong -- just personal preference on how one prefers to choose from his library.
I think it all comes down to (a) personal preferences, (b) source material, and (c) personal preferences. I generally like to think of a set as an album, so the White Album or London Calling play through beginning to end, despite fond (and fogged) memories of choosing which of the 4 sides of the LP I really wanted to hear at a particular time. But the two discs in Foo Fighters "In Your Honor" are so different I treat them as separate albums. And with classical CDs that have multiple artists/works I often split a single CD into different "albums", with each "work" a separate album. -- aubuti Nothing high-end, but music anywhere I want it.
