Yes. The majority of users just have albums that are either tagged with a single artist or have compilations tagged with differing artists. Every other configuration usually involves manual tagging. Most people are just content with that. They don't want to learn about tagging schemes and they don't care about guest artists. They are content with the guest artist being listed in the song title such as '(feat. XY)' or '(with YZ)'. The VA logic just works for them.
If you want to go further than this there are still ways to accomplish what you want with proper tagging. If you are so keen on getting SC to display your metadata the way you want you should first get rid of the flawed concept that is id3 and use an open tagging scheme like vorbis comments. And please stop blaming SC for not supporting the same deficient concepts other programs invented (see CatBus' phone no. metaphor earlier in this thread). Adequate metadata is one (and currently supported) way. Mind reading is not (yet) implemented in SC. -s. -- slimpy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ slimpy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1524 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56078 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
