Thought I'd add my tuppenorth as I've had a lot of headscratching with SC's VA logic. My opinion is that it may work OK if SC is the only, or the main, way that you play your audio files. I want SC to coexist with a UPnP server (I use JRiver Media Center) and Windows Media Player. I don't think either of these have any special VA logic. My tags were set up for these servers - no compilation tags needed. SC was a lot more difficult to work out. The easy thing is no doubt to do nothing. Being able to disable SC's VA logic would not make the program simpler from a coding point of view, but it would make it simpler to use for many end users (myself included).
