Just two remarks: 1. I -think- adding the »date« in foobar was meant to circumvent the »Greatest Hits« problem somehow. (Otherwise you might end up with some BIG pseudo-albums.)
2. Originally, I went with the »1 album = all discs in set« for Replay Gain approach until I found that sadly enough some sets contain extra discs (»bonus«, »live«, etc.) that use -very- different compression and/or levels. Since then I personally prefer using »RG album« for single discs only, i.e. splitting sets by discnumber and/or album name (»blah (disc 1)«).
