I'm still not seeing that behaviour on my files. I think you are saying that non-compilation albums should always be okay, because the artist (or album artist) will always match. It's only compilation albums that are likely to exhibit the issue, if they are ripped to separate folders (all files in same folder works too). Albums with COMPILATION=1 and have an album artist (eg. Various Artists) should also be okay?
I have a compilation album in mp3 format, tagged with id3v2.4, with COMPILATION=1 and ITUNESCOMPILATION=1 (TCMP frame), and DISC, DISCC and DISCNUMBER tags. Each disk is ripped to a separate sub-folder. If I browse to it in the WebUI via Browse Artists > Various Artists > Classical Chillout - Platinum, I see all songs from all 4 disks as a single album. Are you browsing to your album in a different way? Player UI or SBC?
