no one forces you to read it... i'm just making my case, if you don't
like that i make my case, TS.

and you have a very annoying habit of talking down to others, something
a lot of "old timers" here do. how dare i challenge someone's notions!
what is constructive or necessary about your post?

and i see nothing subjective about the point i am making here... if
anything, applying RG on anything other than a per disc method is whats
subjective.

i think i made clear that there are essentially two ways to do album
RG, depending on ones objectives. what i take issue with, and i stand
by it, is the idea that the dynamic range across discs is intentional
by the artist, (its very unlikely), and secondly that even if it is,
(and maybe occassionally it is, but i seriously doubt it), but even if
it is, the whole point of RG in the first place is to minimize
adjustments to the volume knob.

i ask again, if you have a multidisc album with ONE album RG value, and
it gets to a spot thats too quiet or too loud, will you deny yourself
the ability to adjust the volume knob in a quest to preserve dynamic
range across all discs?

if so, kudos to you and your listening discipline. but thats not what
i believe the point of RG to be.

and i should be allowed to make this argument without anyone coming
down on me. its not a slight against anyone (personal or otherwise) if
i say "my way is better" and people really need to get over it if thats
how they feel.
