Album gain was originally called Audiophile gain. The idea was to
provide a way to listen to an album just as it was on the physical
media. The sole purpose of audiophile gain is to bring the pop album
that's 20 dB louder than the classical album into line.
If all you want is to minimize manual volume adjustments then use track
gain exclusively.
If you want to listen to an album as it was on disc use album gain for
the whole album.

Feel free to use RG in any other way that suits you best but stop
telling everybody else that your way is better just because your
understanding of RG is different.

RG definitions aside, I'm still not convinced that your way of applying
disc gain vs. my way of applying album gain leads to fewer manual volume
adjustments when listening to an entire multi disc album.
Unlike you, I'm willing to give in if you can provide a conclusive
example.
And no, to just reiterate your maths won't do.
