Hello all

I have my music collection just about complete and all neatly organized
and tagged (using mp3tag).
Now comes the cover art - not a terribly important feature - just the
icing on the cake.
And here I'd appreciate some helpful advice.

As far as I understand, SC offers 2 alternative methods :
1) separate JPGs saved in a folder
or
2) embedded in the tag per title.

What are the pros and cons of these two alternatives ?

I started out on the per track method but would like to try the folder
alternative before going any further.
So I know how to embed cover art per track
but could someone please talk me through the folder method ?

Where should I save the JPGs - in the album folder itself - or all JPGs
together in a separate folder somewhere ?
And what should I specify in the SC settings - Advanced - Formatting
fields ?

Most tracks in my music collection are sorted in the following folder
structure :
E:\ MUSIC \ genre \ artist \ year \ album \ tracknumber \ title.

There are however certain inconsistencies that might cause problems if
I use the folder method.

In the genre "blues" I have all tracks saved in the artist folder
(without album - because they didn't have albums in the 1930s). I would
like just one portrait.jpg for all titles per artist.

Similarly, for all pieces in the genre "classical" I want to save just
one portrait.jpg per composer (irrespective of orchestra, soloist,
conductor, opus, CD title, etc.)

Can anyone give me a few hints ?

Best regards from Ray
