I find a rating of 0-5 just fine. I believe the idea of using a more detailed
scale was that you could automatically get ratings to change up/down a value
when a song is played/skipped. However, I frequently play random songs, and
and skip songs - it doesn't mean I like them or hate them any more than before.

Ratings/stats are a complete nightmare. I use various apps for various
reasons, and trying to keep them in sync is hard work, because they are all
different (most apps store in their own internal DB). The best thing seems to
be to consider SqueezeCenter DB as the master for ratings, as it supports the
most formats (non-DRM), and the information is (currently) freely accessible
from the database, so it's easy to backup/import/export.

Does WinAmp have its own DB for storing stats, or does it only work with tags?
If it only works with tags, you are not going to be able to support all apps,
because other apps don't read tags, or support rating tags in different ways
(such that you can't decide what a value in a rating tag represents, unless you
know/can work out what app wrote it).
