fine, but imo that isn't always the case nor does it trump persistence. moreover, most apps don't maintain separate DBs for differing users of the same music. in fact, do any? does SC? i don't use erlands stuff, so i don't know how it works. But no-one follows the standard. yeah, i kinda caught on to that, doesn't answer the Q however. No chance! i really don't care what itunes does, but it is worth pointing out that tunes DOES now support TPE2 = Album Artist, something it did after WMP did it. was it b/c of WMP? whose to say? point is consensus was reached. That is the issue. eg. TrackStat displays 5* ratings, but > holds the rating internally as a number 0-100. right, and i don't know anything about that, other than what links and so on i already quoted in this thread. if there is broad consensus on 5 stars already, (and half stars) then at least thats a good start. hopefully WMP and winamp can be congruent with as many other apps already doing this out there as possible, and then at that point it becomes a de facto standard. -- MrSinatra www.LION-Radio.org Using: Squeezebox2 (my home) / SBR (parent's home) / SBC (my home) - w/SC 7.3.3b - Win XP Pro SP3 - 3.2ghz / 2gig ram - D-Link DIR-655 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MrSinatra's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=59929 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
