For the record, none is not a rating. If the tag is not present, there is no rating. Is "no rating" higher than 5*, less than 1* or average? None of the above.
If SC were to attempt to support the myriad of ratings tag formats (which I suspect will never happen, as there is no standard), then it should at least be an opt-in, because if it were to automatically happen, it would screw up any existing rating data in its internal DB, which would automatically infect iTunes and MusicIP, which use API's for transfering song stats. Once infected, there's no way to go back (unless users have a backup). Why do you have to turn everything into an argument?
