Yep, has to be what works for you. I never felt the need to search by conductor for example. My approach -
Genre - use Squeezebox multi-genre facility, e.g. Classical;Contemporary Composer - composer e.g. Bach, W F Album - prefix with composer if all by one person, e.g. Telemann · Flute Sonatas Op.2 Title - Movement, e.g String Quintet in B flat major K174, I.
