I hadn't realised after all these years that there was a way to see tags at a song level in the server view - I was looking at the artist level (so thanks JJZolx) and that there is a difference between albumartist and album artist. As others also said the main pain with MP3tag is loading up an entire database - but agree it is pretty powerful for most requirements - we all have our favourites.
