MediaMonkey provides "Views" (in database language) of your files, and
one of these is by-physical-location, but others include by-Artist so
that you can discover the typical variations that arise:

Bartók Béla
Bartok Bela
Béla Bartók
Bela Bartok
Bartók (Béla Viktor János 1881-1945

and so on. The track listing includes the physical location, so it's
usually immediately obvious where things are inconsistent.

MediaMonkey is also useful for ripping to flac, and conversion, and
actually everything you probably want to do except re-index the
Squeezebox server. However, the one thing I was delighted to discover
was that it put music on my iPod Touch, and convert it "on-the-fly"
from flac or from 320kbps mp3 to 128kbps mp3. Brilliant!
