For quite unstable values of "stable" and quite small values of
"significantly". It's not that long ago a bug was fixed in reiserfs
which led to you losing your data when exporting a reiserfs via NFS. 
Personally, I've lost a reiserfs partition due to an untimely power
cycle once. And file system speed is nowadays not really much of an
issue - once it's in the memory it's usually kept in the RAM or swap.
