You might be the one to find out why, then. Every distro installs and runs
different background programs. First check to see which ones your current
distro is running and then compare that with RL's. BTW, "i386" does not
mean it may not be optimized for a later CPU. I had problems with a
genuine 486 when what I got was optimized for a 586. That may be an
argument for rebuilding source rpms.

and stayed with it, then went to SuSe 7.2, 7.3. I am currently running
Mandrake 8.1 and I like it alot. No speed problems at all (of course it is
i586 optimized)however, SuSe 7.3 is i386 and it seems to run just as fast.
Pretty much the same with RedHat 7.2. I have installed and ran all of these
distro's on the same computer

it out in the next day or so. I just wanted to know if it really is slower
than all of the other distro's (like I have heard some people claim it
was)? It looks like a good distro that has a nice clean design, I just hope
it is not as slow as some people have said it is. Also why not includ the
OpenGL drivers with the distrobution and just charge for new updated games
or charge for new drivers as they become available.
