I would add that most of the good Windows sequencers do (or at least did) require a certain amount of effort on the part of the individual to tune their system if you want optimal performance. And the prevelance of bespoke Windows music machines or indeed people keeping a dedicated "clean" Windows machine solely for making music is well known. As Chris says, part of our remit (here at team "the Rosengarden") is to produce a piece of software which runs out of the box on your common or garden Linux desktop.
