I think it is, because it's not quite good to use any app as root. Talking
about RG, if you want to connect to JACK, you need to run RG as root, Then
all of your project files will be created with SUID. Will you be able to
access them without running RG as root?

Besides, most RH users, who are interested in hi quality audio production,
use packages from PlanetCCRMA, where multimedia (LL/LLC) kernel is
available and highly recommended.
