What it does is * you make a selection in the matrix * you call Adjust -> Stretch or Squash * you get to the dialog where this string is, and pick what span of time you want the selection to be stretched or squashed to fit into If this box is checked, the events (eventos, *not* segmentos; this only works within one segment, and does not affect any segments that follow it) move forward or back in time as necessary to avoid creating either an overlap or a gap. If the box is not checked, and you make the notes shorter, then there will be a gap between the last note in the selection and the start of the first note that wasn't part of the selection. If you make the notes longer, they will stretch out and overlap whatever was already in that particular span of time. > "staves": no puedo encontrar qué representa esto en español... ¿líneas, > barras que separan los compases? It has to do with enharmonics. The "black key" notes on a piano keyboard can be spelled one of two ways, as Bb or A#, for example. I don't know if you can "deletrear" enharmonic variations in Spanish or not. I would guess this is probably idiomatic, and does not translate literally. This is too obscure and specialized a concept for any of my reference books to be of any use here. What it's used for is if you have an Eb that you want to rewrite as a D# for some reason. You can use this function to change it without having to delete the Eb, then go insert a D# in its place. -- D.
