I don't disagree about not being able to delete existing chords.

When you ask how I'd like a chord dictionary to behave, my first thought is 
that I'd like to see chords grouped by category.  Simple chords, rock chords, 
jazz chords, country chords, etc., along with some overview of everything.

For that to be truly useful, it seems users would need the ability to create 
custom categories to suit their own purposes, and chords would need a 
category property to sort against.  It seems that since the same chord might 
be in one or more category, it would probably need a flag for each possible 
category.  isa(RockChord), isa(JazzChord) or something like that.

It sounds like a lot of bother, but feels nice to me as a "perfect world" way 
of presenting the information.  I'm thinking as someone who doesn't ever 
remotely want to see or use any b2#9sus4add13, and yet who agrees that it 
shouldn't be possible to delete existing chords.
