Have you considered contacting Aptana? Now that they took over RadRails,
they
might be interested in keeping RDT alive.. or IBM should donate something,
I'm sure they don't want to capitulate before Sun and NetBeans!

I haven't contacted Aptana or IBM. Maybe it's because I never approached
them, but I do find it a bit unliley IBM will suddenly decide to support us
- the project has been around for 4 years now.

So, I've decided to pursue a commercial fork of RDT and RadRails.

What pricing model do you have in mind? Something like Textmate? I'm a
linux
user so I don't find the idea of buying software very appealing, but if
you
look at Textmate's success, that might actually work on other platforms.

The pricing would be close to Textmate.

So I'm striving to stroke a good balance between the two.

And you would work on Ruby Red alone or do you plan to 'hire' more devs?

Alone until there was enough profit to "hire" developers. Most likely if it
was going well I'd extend out bounties and contractor type work to the other
developers here. After all, you guys have the experience and knowledge.

Thanks,
Chris
