One must have many peso's for those.
Actually, you are correct in your assumption. That is, I'd rather sit and
dream about what I am "going" to do than have someone do it for me. It
wouldn't be "mine" then... does that make sense?
In otherwords, I really do like the feeling of accomplishment when I
actually FINISH a project. I also want any finished model/scene/whatever to
be MY work. Egotistical, perhaps... but I don't think so, really. Simply a
matter that I'd rather a finished modeling project rise or fall on my
efforts, not another's.
Now, having said that, this would be a good time to pass this along...
I spent a bit of time defining my log jam areas, and I'm getting off my duff
and doing something about the ones that require acquisitions. That is, I
have the parts on the way from SHS that I need to tackle the SW-9 project.
PLUS, I redirected that project toward something I'm more comfortable with:
I will be modeling it as a Frisco SW-9 instead of a KCT engine. Reason?
More latitude for era shifting later on if desired.
To wit: The KCT aquired their SW's in 1964... meaning that if I want to be
accurate, I shouldn't push my era back any further in order to accomodate
steam on the layout (at some point in the future). The Frisco aquired their
SW9's in '52... well within the steam spectrum.
So what about my beloved KCT?
Ah, good question.
Remember that Railmaster question I asked?
Well... I now have a Railmaster S-2 kit on the way to become my first KCT
engine. (The KCT aquired their S-2's in the 40's, so no steam conflict if I
want to encompass steam in the future.) Later, when SHS releases their
undec NW-2, I will be picking one up to become KCT #61 (acquired in '39,
rebuilt in '52)... and perhaps one for a Frisco version as well? Stranger
things have happened.
Unfortunately, I doubt much S work will happen this week on account of the
weekly schedule I foresee. Oh well.
