This is not too exciting but I have been putting scale couplers on my
freight cars. I love the SHS #01295 KD style couplers. They look great and
are so
easy to apply to the SHS freight cars. And its so quick. I have run into a
batch of L&N boxcars that I have been unable to loosen the screws that
attach the trucks. But I am sure I can do it when I find the right Phillips
style
screwdrive.

I am procrastinating on my AM cars because I see it is going to be a lot
harder to apply Kadee style couplers to those, especially if I cannot find a
way
to attach the SHS #01295s to them. Seems it takes a wider screw that will
not penetrate the opening in the #01295s.

I have assembled the Kadee 802s in the past so I know I can do these if I
have to, but I have misplaced a special little tool that Don Thompson gave me
many years ago. It is a little surgical tool of some type that helps hold the
KD coupler to the coupler box while you go crazy putting the spring in.
This tool is like having a third hand which all model railroaders need.

Another challenge is going to be adding the scale couplers to the locos.

I am sorry to learn that someone quit but I did not read it. I deleted most
of the emails today because they looked like they did not amount to much or
were technically over my head. Someday I will try to explore the weeeeki
thing but not today.

Hi All,

Can someone post something about a project that you are modeling? I have
been decaling O Scale hopper cars this week, so I can't talk about that
much.

It's cool that you guys are juiced about the new Wiki thing.
