Ed,

While I'm kind of busy with the my action item list for the upcoming
convention, I could not believe it when I read this from you and
thought it was worth a quick reply! I'm not sure what to think -- perhaps:

a) time has stopped for you in the NYC fog, or
b) you just wrote this to make us all think about how grateful we
should be for all the new products, or
c) you're trying to tweak the mfgs to produce even more, or
d) all the new products are not NYC, so they don't count, or
e) you're just trying to stimulate Internet conversation, or
f) all of the above and more!

:-)

I guess all the new releases from S Helper Service, Des Plaines
Hobbies/S Scale America, American Models, River Raisin Models,
B.T.S., Banta, Ragg's to Riches, Pine Canyon Scale Models, Smoky
Mountain Model Works, Bar Mills Scale Models, Turner Model Works,
Grand River Models, BranchLine Trains, Blair Line, GCLaser
Innovations, Palace Car Co., Kaw Valley Designs, Wild West Models,
Wiseman Model Services, Clever Models, Scenery Unlimited, Smart
Signals, NJI, along with special run roadnames from numerous clubs &
companies like Port Lines Hobbies & Hoquat Hobbies, and many others
must not count in your view...not to mention all the products that
support multiple scales (including S) like Evan Designs, all the DCC
products, etc.

While I certainly don't have a count, there are no doubt several
hundred new products in S over the last two years -- not even
counting the multi-scale products! Whether it's new paint schemes
and/or road numbers on existing items, or new motive power (Sharks,
SW8s, NW2s, new steam anyone?) and new rolling stock, or new
structures, or new details, or new containers, or new parts (e.g.,
trucks, etc.) or new ...there is sure a lot of them -- more than my
wallet can keep with for sure...

Of course I don't have those NYC colored glasses on... :-)
