Contrary to the warnings from field "experts," the popularity of Smoky Mountain
Model Works' SR low side gondola model "KIT" continues to amaze me! It being
such a "regional" car and unique to the Southern Railway makes it even more
amazing! The total sales of this one model, alone has reached 180 (Roman and
Block font combined) (it will be 182 once I order the two extra kits I want).
This just goes to show all the nay-sayers that what I've been saying ever since
I came into S is actually true...
1. there IS a market for KITS in S scale,
2. there IS a market for models of the southern flavor,
and
3. there IS a market for "scale" (non-Flyer compatible) models in S!!!
I guess the "experts" who said Jim would be lucky to sell no more than 50 of
any kit isn't much of an expert after all.
Keep'em coming, Jim... there is life out here after all in S land!
