Rhett...Most all S rolling stock is made to run on the same radius as 
the classic American Flyer toy trains which, I believe, is about 20" or 
so (centerline).  So you would be safe using that number.  However 
another question to consider is whether you really want a radius that 
small.  In general, the larger the radius the better the appearance and 
the better the operation -- especially with longer heavier trains.  At 
some point coupling/uncoupling on curves becomes difficult, but I do 
not know what that magic radius is and, to some extent, it will depend 
on which coupler you choose to use.  Since those are pretty subjective 
areas, it is hard to advise what is best for you.  Maybe someone else 
can throw out some ideas.  Have fun...Ed L.
