One other unique aspect of these turnouts is that of being reusable. The rails
are metal, the ties are circuit boards, the connections are soldered. No
plastic and no wood. Thus, when you want to salvage a turnout (when rebuilding
a layout or diorama) you can simply pour boiling water onto the turnout to
soften the glue holding the turnout to the layout. Just pull up on the turnout
and off it comes. A little cleanup and you can use it again. One fellow wrote
to me telling me how he likes to do this once a year since he builds one
diorama or module section each year and then tears it apart to build a new one.
We each enjoy this hobby in our own way, I suppose, but the Whiteoak turnouts
would be ideal for his purpose. Ed L.
