Yeah, going thru a switch frog and guardrails gives a lot more places for
friction to take hold. it's a lot different than just running around an open
curve.
If the loco has enough driver sideplay to run on an open curve then the
frog and guardrails might need to be compromised to let it fit thru. A 10
coupled loco is not usually found in a yard throat so maybe you could just
build a mainline bypass where it could hook onto it's trains after one of Don's
sweet little switchers has made them up? .....dave
