I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. After almost a year of faultless 
operation, I had a visitor the other day, and wouldn't you know that was the 
exact time for a switch point to lose contact with a closure rail and shut down 
the pocket track at Mooar Yard. 

Then, as if that wasn't enough, a set screw on one of the block selector knobs 
decided to loosen up and throw a wrench in operations in that block. neither 
episode has happened in the past, but at least I was able to resolve the issues 
in a short amount of time. I guess if you want REAL operating mysteries, you 
have to have DCC.
