A few old timers here, and as a wise man said recently, new people come on
board all the time, so it doesn't hurt to repeat the basics.
The older AF steam locos will probably run OK on code 100, assuming you
don't have grapefruit-size spikes. Don't just say no, try it. Measure the
height or depth of the flange of the item you want to run. If it's under
0.100 inch, you're in.
The real problem is with the flange WIDTH. AF, old or new, will not go thru
the flangeways of scale turnouts. Special trackwork, closed frogs or Stoltz
frogs, could be the solution there.
