Jim:

On my GP9s, I drilled out the molded fans and inserted S-Helper F3/7 fans in
the 36" holes and used a Red Caboose O scale 36" fan for the S scale 48"
dynamic brake fan. These fans are see through and have wonderful detail. Yes,
it was a lot of work to drill and file out the round holes, but it sure raises
the quality of the model IMHO.

I pointed my speakers up so the sound traveled through the fans. I have the
curious situation of having one unit very loud (had to really reduce the volume
to get the sound within the 6' foot rule) and the second unit too soft, even at
max volume. I think that Tsunami decoder may have a bad amp. Right now the
engine is sitting on my RIP track behind about ten other projects so I have not
taken the time to figure out the problem.

Cheers,
