At the Sn3 Symposium a few weeks ago, I go t the impression from Jeff
(Railmaster) that he has RSD drives in hand. If not, I think he can get
them in short order...

Wish I could help on the replacement drive, but you left out option #4,
replacing the Alco models drive with a a Railmaster/Northyard RSD drive. It
seems to me somebody wrote an article on doing that for Alco models RS-3s
when the drives failed...
