I remember the problem being all of the models that Alco Models 
imported from the orient. The S scale RS models were just a bit better than the 
HO models but not by much. They were built by Samhongsa who was the premier 
builder in Korea at that time
 I think I paid $300 for it when they first came out in the early 1980's. I 
eventually bought a North Yard drive direct from the owner in New Zealand, I 
think I paid him $125 which included shipping. I rebuilt the model and painted 
it Rio Grande bumble bee. I had the decals custom made for me. I then sold it 
on ebay for $150. I don't think I had over $500 in it but I'm not sure. I also 
think the S scaler that bought it complained that he either paid too much for 
the model or the shipping.
