Well, I painted some more trees made from last summer's left over hydrenga (I gotta' learn to spell that word) blossoms.
I also instituted a new passenger train operation. When the morning train arrives at Terminal District, a yard engine immediately puts the head end cars over on some mail storage cars and a combine to make up the Midday Mail. This train makes a round trip, and upon arrival back at Terminal District, the yard engine attacks it and puts those same head end cars back on the two coaches left at Terminal District and makes up the afternoon train to Mooar Yard and KUD. Meanwhile, the engine yard personnel have to be on their toes to make sure appropriate (boiler-equipped) motive power is ready to go. Although I am a single operator, if I do things in proper sequence, this makes an interesting operation, but I generally have to suspend freight activity while I carry it out. SHABBONA RR is point-to-point, so these passenger trains substitute for "letting 'em run" on a continuous loop. Once I get Mt. Zion in service so trains can meet there, that may change. In other news, I had a glimmer of light in my ongoing effort to teach myself computer-aided drafting, but I still need to put my nose to the drafting table and come up with a formal plan of SHABBONA Bob Nicholson ____________________________________________ --- In [email protected], "scale S only" <scalesonly@...> wrote: > > Hi guys (and gals) -- > > Time to revive the Friday Night Fun thread... > > This week saw my B&O wagontop hopper car get decaled after ? many years. > The conversion of the AF depressed center flatcar was almost completed this > week, as well â" lettering on one side, but then thoughts of grinding off > the cast stirrup steps has delayed doing the other side until sanity reigns. > I also found my stash of decals from before my move to AZ!
