Bill's reminder about the FNF thread is appreciated.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of having my grandkids from Washington State
visit. The eldest is a 5 year old train nut. He was the one who gave me my
grandparent name of CHOOCH.
anyway, the great pleasure was seeing him operate the staging yard using DCC
and
a sound equiped SHS 2-8-0. He quickly learned the track designations, operated
the train very slowly as he made up and then broke out the freight cars.
Whistle signals were right on, and he was able to perform the opertions with
out
derailments over several hour long sessions. All the work I have put into this
part of the layout was returned in full that weekend.
